How are the movements attached to the bases?

Question;

Hi, I just had a comment and a question. I love your work. I am just getting into steam punk. Cassandra Clare a young adult author made me aware of steam punk and I am totally in love with it. I have some pieces here that I would like to put together but I don't know how to adhere them. So my question for you if you wouldn't mind is do you glue the watch pieces on? Do you wire them on? I am confused, I have never made jewelry before but I have always wanted to make myself a piece. I am an artist and do all kinds of things.
Thanks so much and again, I love your work.

Answer::

Beth, I would be happy to share a few tips with you. I use the E-6000 glue for a strong hold. for charms and the movements. For the crystals, I stick with the super glue. I happened to be in the same position as you about how these pieces are attached and wound up having to try different things from soldering to glues. Now I stick with the two that have proved to be the strongest. The great thing about the E-6000 is that you REALLY have o fight with the piece in order to tear it off!! Found that out on a piece that I accidentally used by mistake when I was working with two different projects. The super glued item popped right off!! Who knew super glue was so easy to fix? Have a wonderful day.            ---Sandra
